- Observation hours are a requirement to apply to OT schools.
- Having sufficient hours ensures a higher probability of OT school acceptance
- Hours will add to your store of experiences that you need for profession exposure, personal confirmation, essays, and interviews.
- The more experiences you have, the easier it will be to talk about Occupational Therapy, what it is, what it means to you

- Do all hours have to be related to Occupational Therapy?
- No! Any service hours are accepted by OTS.
- However, schools require that you have a minimum number of hours observing under a registered Occupational Therapists.
- In OTCAS, you will have the opportunity to list both observation hours and service hours (i.e., non-OT-related settings).

How Many Hours/References should I have?
- This is up to you! Some have been observing OTs for years and some have just realized that the want to pursue Occupational Therapy. Hours will vary and that's ok.
